Kevin Durant’s unpopular decision to join the Warriors was heavily criticized. Here are five critics that need to look at themselves before they cast judgment.

Everyone has an opinion on Kevin Durant and his decision to join the Golden State Warriors.

He left All-Star Russell Westbrook, rising star Steven Adams, and the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Bay Area. Just a month earlier, Durant had pushed the Warriors to the brink of elimination, building a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference Finals before faltering and losing a Game 7.

OKC had Golden State all figured out and the difference between a Finals appearance and heartbreak were some memorable performances from Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry.

The Thunder were so close and then Durant decided to leave.

He made the best decision for his growth as a player and a person. It was an unprecedented decision. The 2014 MVP would be joining the 2015 and 2016 MVP and his 73 win team that was a few baskets away from winning their second consecutive championship.

Few outside of the Bay Area liked the signing. Many criticized him, calling him disloyal and a coward. Fans and experts alike put on their hats and acted as the free agency police, trying to punish Durant for his decision.
