Durant’s Return to Oklahoma City: 2/11/17

Here it is. It is finally here (well not really, but you get the point). This, my friends, will be the biggest game of the 2016-2017 NBA regular season. Whether you are a Warriors fan or a 76ers fan, this will be the most anticipated game of the year.

We all know the events that unfolded on July 4th, 2016, and as soon as it happened, one of the first things that came to mind was “when is the first Warriors-Thunder game?”Kevin Durant spent nine years with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and was within a couple of minutes of bringing them to a second NBA Finals Appearance against the team he later joined. You really can’t get a more juicy story line than that.

There will be boo’s, and there will be cheers, but I’m more excited to see how Durant reacts. At this point, he will have 54 games under his belt with his new team, and he will likely be enjoying how easy the game is for him on this team. It will be very interesting to see how he reacts to being back in Oklahoma City and being back in front of the Chesapeake Energy Arena crowd. The only downside is we have to wait so long to find out.
