Small Forward: Kevin Durant

This is your daily reminder that the Golden State Warriors signed Kevin Durant. And guess what #DubNation, the Warriors are now off limits to use in any online, or friend vs. friend match. With the addition of Durant, the Warriors are like a cheat code on the court and in the game, only in real life, it’s not cheating, it’s just an immense amount of talent.

Kevin Durant has had some up and down 2k ratings over the past couple of seasons. Durant is a four-time league scoring champion which allowed his rating in 2k14 to be set at a 94. The next year he won league MVP and delivered an iconic speech that even your mother has probably heard.

His rating jumped up to a 95 overall following his fourth scoring title, averaging 32 points, 5.5 assists, 7.4 rebounds, while shooting 51% from the field and close to 40% from three. However, the very next year saw him play in a career low 27 games following a very serious foot injury that bothered him all season long.

Subsequently, his 2k16 rating came out as only a 91. In his final year with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he had a very underrated season, averaging 28.2 points per game and shooting over 50% for the fourth straight year. If it weren’t for Curry running away with the MVP award in early December, we may have seen Durant in the discussion to win his second.

Now that he has joined the Warriors, his scoring numbers will likely go down, but that’s expected to happen when two top three players join forces (wait, has that ever happened?). With that being said, he still has all the tools to be every bit of the player he was during his 2013-2014 MVP season, and for that reason, expect Durant to have a very high 2k17 rating.

2k17 rating prediction: 93
