8. Paul Arizin

Paul Arizin played ten seasons with the Philadelphia Warriors and he was absolutely dominant in every single one of them. His career spanned from 1950-1962, but he didn’t play from ’52-54 because of his military service. He came back to the NBA and picked up where he left off.

He was named the Rookie of the Year after averaging 17.2 points and 9.8 rebounds. Arizin was an All-Star every single season that he played and he won the MVP of the game in 1952. He was selected to four All-NBA teams (four First-Team, one Second-Team honors).

Arizin was one of the most gifted offensive players of his time, known for his jump shot. The 6’4 small forward averaged 22.8 points and 8.6 rebounds throughout his career. When he retired, he had the third highest total in the league’s (short) history.

He averaged 27.6 points, 8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists on 42 percent shooting as he helped the Warriors defeat the Detroit Pistons in the 1956 Finals. He had 138 points in the five-game series. The next player on his team had 69.

Arizin was named one of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players of All-Time. He dominated the better part of a decade. He won a championship and is third on the Warriors’ all-time scoring list.
