Wanda Durant. mother of Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant, perfectly trolled the Oklahoma City Thunder on Valentine’s Day.

“The Real MVP” has spoken. After Kevin Durant made his return to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night, cupcakes have been on the menu for the Golden State Warriors. What was supposed to be an insult toward the team has turned into a joke they have ran with and it’s been spectacular. Durant’s mother, Wanda, hasn’t been afraid to call it like she sees it.

With Valentine’s Day taking place on Tuesday, Wanda shared a tweet with a message of love to all of her followers. She appropriately celebrated the holiday with cupcakes and it was the perfect subtle dig right back at the Thunder.

Rivalries drive sports like nothing else and the Warriors and Thunder seem to be building a great one. Now, the Warriors have blown out Oklahoma City in all three contests this season but the animosity between the two teams is greater than any other rivalry currently in the NBA.

When Durant returned to the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Saturday night, he was greeted with people wearing shirts calling him a cupcake. Some fans even dressed as a literal cupcake to mock him. Instead, the Warriors won big and Durant had a career night.

The team embraced his new nickname by wearing the shirts after the game and having fun with it. What was supposed to get under his skin didn’t and now the team is making sure everyone knows that they love cupcakes.

These two teams meeting in the playoffs would be a dream come true for most fans. Russell Westbrook and Durant going at each other for at least four games is the type of entertainment the league needs right now.

For now though, we’ll have to live with the trash talk and the regular season battles between the two teams. Mama Durant isn’t afraid to stand up for her son and even she’s getting back at the Oklahoma City Thunder.
