The Golden State Warriors have made this year’s NBA All-Star Game the most interesting one yet.

When it comes to professional sports, All-Star Games tend to draw yawns and don’t offer up much in the narrative department. The NBA All-Star Game typically consists of no defense and both teams trying to race to nearly 200 points. The game won’t be any different this year but the Golden State Warriors have guaranteed this will be the most interesting one yet.

With four players having made the All-Star Game for the team and Steve Kerr stepping in as head coach, this game screams Golden State. Oh yeah, there’s also the Russell Westbrook factor as well. With Westbrook’s bad blood for the Warriors at an all-time high, he is going to get to be teammates with the very men he despises.

That means Steve Kerr gets to have the fun job of putting Westbrook in various lineups in the game. What will be interesting is to see if he puts him with Durant on the floor at the same time or if he keeps them separated. Waiting on the potential interactions of this game is going to be worth watching.

One should expect that Westbrook probably isn’t going to be delivering Durant or his teammates many passes. With the lack of defense that is played in this game, it’s safe to say that Russell is just going to take it all the way when he gets the ball in his hands.

The pettiness of this feud has reminded everyone how great basketball is when there are teams that don’t like each other. Now, for one weekend Westbrook has to find away to live with being on the same team as four guys he doesn’t like. How he handles it will be something to watch as well.

In the meetings these two teams have played this season, the trolling back and forth has been both subtle and not so subtle. This is his opportunity under the spotlight to do something and perhaps he’ll let it slide until they play again but maybe not.

Whatever the case may be, the Warriors have found a way to make this the most interesting NBA All-Star Game yet. It’s just another way this franchise continues to hold the spotlight of the league on themselves.
