The Warriors will hit 30 threes in a game

The Golden State Warriors played in a game earlier in which the single game three-point record was set. Oddly enough, it wasn’t the team with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant that did it. It was the opposition.

The Denver Nuggets hit a record 24 three pointers against the Warriors. They shot an incredible 60 percent from beyond the arc. Seven different players hit at least one trey.

The record is definitely impressive. It won’t stand for much longer however. The Golden State Warriors are going to hit 30 three-pointers in a single game as a team.

The Dubs have the two best shooters on the planet as well as Durant who can hold his own from deep. Those guys can go off at any point. If they all catch fire together, they could come close to the record between just the three of them.

Golden State wouldn’t necessarily need seven different players to connect from three-point range.  If Curry and Thompson can combine for 20 three-pointers, then the task becomes easier. Durant just has to hit about five or so. Then Andre Iguodala, Draymond Green, Ian Clark, and Patrick McCaw have to combine to hit five.

Of course, the Warriors will need to go up against a team that can keep it relatively close. At times, Golden State isn’t able to pursue more records because the games get out of hand. For example, when Thompson scored 60 in 29 minutes, there was no need to play him in the fourth quarter because the game had already been decided.

Curry, Durant, and Thompson have yet to all really get going together. Once that happens, that record is going to be shattered.
