Best Play – MVP Alley-Oop
The Golden State Warriors are must-see TV. It doesn’t matter if you’re a die-hard fan from the Bay Area or a hater from Ohio, the Warriors attract viewers. Their style of play can put people into a trance.
The Warriors are League Pass darlings for a lot of reasons. Steph Curry’s theatrics have been pretty consistent over the last few years. Klay Thompson’s penchant to break records is always something to pay attention to. Draymond Green’s explosive personality pushes people to either end of the spectrum–you either really love him or really hate him.
Adding Kevin Durant, one of the most unique players ever, made this team even more exciting. The Warriors are full of showmen. On a nightly basis, one of them does something that makes your jaw drop.
They have countless incredible plays, but one stands above the rest. With some help from Green, Curry and Durant combined for one of the best alley-oops you’ll ever see. It was absolutely fantastic.
On Monday, December 5, the Warriors blew the Indiana Pacers out 142-106. These were the best two points of the night. It was an all-around team effort capped off by the MVPs being special.
Zaza Pachulia wins the tip and gets the ball to Green. The power forward takes one step and does his best Derek Carr impression and throws a dime all the way down court. It was an underrated pass because it had to be perfect.
Like a wide receiver, Curry looked over his shoulder and jumped forward to catch the long ball. He grabbed it and threw high over his head backwards without looking. Durant used every inch of that long frame, snatched the ball with his left hand, and brought it back and slammed it with both hands.
While the Warriors have had many fantastic plays, the degree of difficulty places this one at the top. The margin of error here, from everyone, was extremely small. Each player executed and the result was one of the best alley-oops to ever happen.
