Golden State Warriors’ center JaVale McGee and Shaquille O’Neal get into beef on Twitter.

Shaq has spent years making fun of McGee’s on court blunders. Some of it is warranted because it is funny. Things like trying to inbound a ball after a teammate makes a free throw or a wildly errant pass are humorous.
But the Hall of Famer has created an entire brand for his “Shaqtin’ a Fool” segment around McGee. O’Neal constantly makes McGee the butt of his jokes. The Warriors’ center has expressed his dissatisfaction before and is officially fed up.
After the Warriors’ big win over the Los Angeles Clippers, O’Neal went at it again. On TNT’s Inside the NBA, he presented a parody of Doctor Strange centered around McGee’s gaffes. Golden State’s big man didn’t like it and let social media know about it.

He took that tweet to Instagram and expanded upon it. He wasn’t done on Twitter though.
While he’s clearly unhappy with it, he seemed to be trying to, at least, take a comedic angle. He’s been a good sport about it though he has let it be known that he doesn’t watch Shaq’s segment. Then Shaq responded.
JaVale fired back.
O’Neal then made a pretty big claim.
McGee took exception to the entire premise.

Then O’Neal, who likes to have the last word, posted this poorly photoshopped photo.
It’s anybody’s guess how this will play out. On the latest episode of the show, O’Neal said that this was his last week of making fun of McGee. The Warriors’ center wasn’t going to let the years of ridicule slide though.
Shaq has benefited off of making fun of McGee just trying to do his job for a long time now. While some of it has been funny, some of the time (like in his latest video) he’s just nitpicking normal things that every player does. He’s just exaggerating it because McGee is easily his favorite target.

This is a surprisingly complex situation with different layers. Both sides have a right to feel how they do, but something’s gotta give eventually. One thing’s for sure: this is a beef that we’re all interested to watch develop.
This is far from over.
