The Golden State Warriors needed all of Steph Curry’s 31 points to defeat the New York Knicks to end their two game losing streak.

The Golden State Warriors finally ended their worst (regular season) losing streak since 2015. After dropping two in a row, the Dubs bounced back in Madison Square Garden. They defeated the New York Knicks 112-105.

Matt Barnes was inserted into the starting lineup, with Kevin Durant sidelined with his knee injury. He played just 18 minutes, but was +2. He made one three-point prayer, and grabbed three rebounds, dished out two assists. He looked lost offensively, but made some solid defensive plays, coming away with two steals and one emphatic blocked shot.

The first half was just ugly. Both teams looked like they were trying to get better positioning in the draft lottery. They had 8 assists and 6 turnovers, while shooting just 36 percent from the field.

Steph Curry’s shooting woes continued early on. He missed all four of his three-point attempts in the first quarter, finishing the half 2/8 from beyond the arc. He was getting good looks over the weak Knicks defense, but couldn’t find the range.

He turned it around once Steve Kerr started putting the ball in his hands. He and his fellow Splash Brother, Klay Thompson, started to look like themselves again in the second half. Curry was able to find good looks for himself and for his teammates.

Curry finished with 31 points on 45.8 percent shooting from the field. He knocked down 5/13 threes. He also hauled in 8 rebounds and passed out 6 assists. Thompson added 29 of his own, connecting on 4/9 three-pointers.

It was a hard fought win against a subpar opponent. With the San Antonio Spurs right on their tail, Golden State will take anything it can get. The team is still trying to figure out how to play without Durant while their sharpshooters work through their slumps.

The Warriors fly to Atlanta to take on the Hawks who just gave the Cleveland Cavaliers trouble despite giving up an NBA record 25 three-pointers.
