The Golden State Warriors will be resting just about everyone when they face the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night.

For the fourth time in six games, the Golden State Warriors found themselves on the losing end on Friday night. A late comeback attempt stalled against the Minnesota Timberwolves and the team now has to deal with the reality they could fall out of the top seed in the Western Conference. On Saturday night, they will face the San Antonio Spurs on the road without rest.

With the amount of games Golden State has played this week and the fact they’ve played all over the country, Steve Kerr is apparently going to let his stars rest against the Spurs. Anthony Slater reported after the game, that the Warriors will not play Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala on Saturday night. This is in addition to Kevin Durant already being out.

Kerr spoke to reporters after the game and explained his decision to rest stars. He mentioned that he’s been speaking at length with the training staff and considering they’re getting into San Antonio so late, he doesn’t want to risk their health.

The news of the Warriors resting their star players comes not long after it was announced that the San Antonio Spurs would not be playing Kawhi Leonard in the game. It could be a bit of a back-and-forth mental game between head coaches, but rest is important at this stage.

With tired legs and the fact that the team is at their lowest point of the season, it makes sense that the Warriors would rest their guys. Considering it’s San Antonio, there will be plenty of theories about whether or not they’ll wait until the playoffs to show their hand if these two teams end up meeting each other.
