According to a report from Chris Haynes and Marc Stein, Golden State Warriors forward could be back before the end of the season.
When Kevin Durant was injured against the Washington Wizards, it sent the Golden State Warriors into a brief tailspin of sorts. The team lost four out of six games and they even briefly dropped out of the top seed in the Western Conference.

The adjustment period ended up being very real for the Warriors. Even worse, it came during a stretch when Stephen Curry was ice cold shooting the basketball and looked like just another man out there on the floor with the ball in his hands.
Since then, the Warriors have managed to win five games in a row and four straight in blowout fashion. Their swagger is back and the team has finally adjusted to life without Kevin Durant on the floor. However, he could be back before the end of the regular season.
According to Chris Haynes and Marc Stein of ESPN, there is a belief within the organization that Durant could be back before the playoffs begin. That would certainly be a welcome sight for the Warriors as they get ready to make a run at another NBA Championship.
While there’s something to be said about maybe not trying to rush Kevin Durant back into action, there’s also the adjustment period as well. We saw the Warriors go into a bit of a dive without Durant on the floor and it took them a while to get right.

Incorporating him back in the offense as he tries to get healthy is important too. That’s why it could prove to be beneficial if he is able to play some regular season games so that he isn’t going into the playoffs cold.
Of course, they have to make sure that his knee is healthy and he can play on it too. The fact that he’s been doing some shooting before games is a positive sign and one that should corroborate the belief that his return is near.
