After defeating the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night, what’s the next task for the Golden State Warriors?

More from Warriors News

The Golden State Warriors are riding high in the Western Conference. With a 3.5-game lead over the San Antonio Spurs and only seven games remaining on the schedule, Golden State pretty much has the top seed under wraps. So long as they keep adding wins under their belts of course.

Coming back to win in the fashion that they did was a momentum boost for the Warriors. Getting blown out by the Spurs and having the race become tighter between the two would have presented plenty of questions that they probably wouldn’t have wanted.

Now, the Warriors will look to move onto the next thing in their way. There are variety of things coming up that they are going to have to deal with as they make a run at an NBA Championship. Here are the two things up next.

Clinch No. 1 Seed

Yes, the Warriors have this thing pretty much under wraps. Yet at the same time, they really can’t afford to make this interesting and suffer any bad losses. They need to take care of the schedule they have and maybe earn themselves some rest the last few games before the playoffs.

Get Kevin Durant Back

One big thing the Warriors have coming up is getting Kevin Durant back. While having their newest superstar back in the fold is going to be key to their playoffs, run it’s also going to be key to get him adjusted back in the lineup. The Warriors have been on an incredible streak currently during his absence. That’s going to make it all the more tougher to work him back in.

Essentially, they’re looking at getting things right in the first round of the playoffs against the No. 8 seed. From there, they should be able to find a little rhythm and continue to advance toward their goal.
