Every night has pretty much become a new adventure with the Golden State Warriors. During the 12-game winning streak the team is on, they have found that spark again and are showing the things the great fans in Oracle are used to. Wednesday night’s game had all the ingredients for a typical Warriors win.
First, there was the fight and scrappy behavior that we’ve become accustomed to seeing with this team. JaVale McGee and Gorgui Dieng were about to tear into each other before they were separated by the officiating crew. They would each be assessed penalties on the floor.
Then there was the crazy sequence that highlights what the Warriors typically do on most nights. In fact, Stephen Curry might have outdone himself this time. That’s an impossible thought to imagine but it was one of those things you have to see to believe.

For those keeping score at home, he hit a couple of threes, hit up Klay Thompson for one and then threw the most insane pass of his career to Andre Iguodala. That’s just downright impressive, even by Curry’s high standards
Klay Thompson was the MVP for this one. His 41 points helped get the Warriors ahead early and the team turned in another fantastic performance on national television. They’re not right on the cusp of the top seed in the west.
The trend of the Warriors bending defensively in the first half but locking things down in the second half was prevalent again in this one. The Timberwolves managed to put up only 47 points in the second half. The perimeter defense was outstanding as they held Minnesota to just 21.1% from deep.

Now, the team will head to play the Phoenix Suns tomorrow night. We know some guys will be rested but it’s a win they should be able to get. The Suns have lost 12 in a row and are racing toward the highest lottery pick they can achieve.
Perhaps the Warriors can keep their trend going of ridiculous plays and push the win streak to 13. The younger Suns have been known to give the Warriors some fight before and Golden State should expect nothing less on the road.
