The Golden State Warriors will be without the 2015 NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

The Golden State Warriors will be a little short-handed in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. The Dubs will be without Andre Iguodala. He is out with left knee soreness.

He only played 10 minutes in the Warriors’ Game 1 victory. Iguodala sat the entire second half as Golden State mounted their huge comeback. For a stretch, he wasn’t even on the bench with the rest of the team.

Iguodala is a key component of the Warriors’ Super Death Lineup. He’s averaging seven points, three assists, and four rebounds per game during this year’s postseason. He’s struggled shooting the ball, knocking down just 13 percent of his three-pointers during the playoffs.

After the game, he underwent an MRI. The results showed that there was no structural damage. There’s no word on how many games he’ll miss.

The Warriors like to be cautious with their veteran forward. They give him plenty of rest. This year, however, he had to exert more energy during the regular season than he would have liked to after Kevin Durant went down with injury.

Iguodala is a calming presence for Golden State, but they were able to win without him in Game 1. It took serious heroics from Stephen Curry and Durant, but they can do it again. The Warriors will turn to Shaun Livingston and Matt Barnes to fill in for Iguodala.

The Warriors won’t be the only time without their Finals MVP. In a much more damaging blow, the San Antonio Spurs will be without Kawhi Leonard. He injured (and re-injured) his ankle in Game 1.

Golden State will need Iguodala if they advance to the NBA Finals. He’s an important part of their game plan against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
