With a long wait until the third game of the Western Conference Finals, the Golden State Warriors can’t get caught up in news off the court.

Ever since the Golden State Warriors demolished the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, there has been a lot of downtime until Game 3. With Saturday almost here, the Warriors and Spurs have gotten plenty of rest while the Eastern Conference Finals catch up.

At the same time, this series has created for a lot of chatter and plenty of days off between games has certainly picked up. Whether it’s the injury to Kawhi Leonard or the release of the All-NBA teams, the Warriors have found themselves front and center in the news.

It’s not a new spot for them by any means, but it’s important at the same time they stick to doing what they’re best at and not getting caught up in the distractions. Sure, Draymond Green will be out there giving his opinion and typically a strong one, but he has yet to let it truly affect his play when he’s on the court.

That being said, this series against the Spurs is unlike any other. With Leonard’s status still unknown, the Warriors can’t proceed as if they have it locked up already. They have to keep the foot on the gas and do exactly what they did on Tuesday night.

San Antonio isn’t going to be a friendly environment to them and it would be nothing short of shocking if the Spurs didn’t take this one to the wire. San Antonio is a different beast at home and no one plays better after getting blown out than them.

Just look at how they went and handled the Houston Rockets after getting blown out in the first game of their last series. That’s what the Warriors have to have their mind on. Going all in on the next game and putting themselves one game away from the NBA Finals. If they can do that, then they will be in great shape.
