The Golden State Warriors exploded in the second half of Game 2 of the NBA Finals as they take a 2-0 series lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Golden State Warriors are two wins away from being crowned NBA champions. They took a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 132-113. It took a big second half for the Dubs to pull away.

Golden State won game one easily. Kevin Durant had 38 points and Steph Curry had 28 points. Cleveland’s defense offered no resistance.

After having a few days to incorporate new things and study tape, the Cavaliers did not make any adjustments. While they didn’t give up six first half dunks to Durant, they gave up jumpers to guys you don’t want to give up jumpers to.

Curry had 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. The highlight of the game came in the second half when he took on LeBron James one-on-one. Curry used every single move that he has in his bag of tricks to get James off balance and finish at the rim.

Durant was also spectacular once again. He had 33 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists. He was just as amazing defensively, coming away with five blocks, swatting away Cavs at the rim and on jumpshots.

Klay Thompson came alive today. After struggling for most of the postseason with his shot, he was able to put the ball in the basket today. He had 22 points on 66.7 percent shooting from the field and 57.1 percent from three.

James was great, as always. He had 29 points, 11 rebounds, and 14 assists. Still, he couldn’t get it going from deep and he just didn’t have enough firepower to match Golden State.

The Warriors didn’t play a perfect game. They were really sloppy, especially in the first half. In Game 1, the Warriors had four turnovers–they had 20 in Game 2.

Golden State continued to push the ball. It was clear that they wanted to have a high tempo game again. They were running and gunning and launched 43 three-pointers today, knocking down 18 of them.

The Warriors have a chance to take a commanding lead on Wednesday by going up 3-0. They’ll need to take care of the ball better on the road, but they’re in great position.
