Stephen Curry might have honored “the Browns” and Cleveland didn’t like it

Stephen Curry squatted and might have joked that he was going number 2 on the Cleveland Cavaliers’ court in the NBA Finals.

Stephen Curry has had an incredible NBA Finals. He’s averaging nearly a triple-double for the entire series. More importantly, however, is the fact that he’s 48 minutes away from winning his second championship.

Curry was spectacular, once again, in Game 3. On the road, he had another big night. He had 26 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists. He’s hit huge shots and, even better, he’s made the game so much easier for Kevin Durant, who has been amazing in his own right.

The two MVPs carried the Warriors to a comeback victory in Game 3. With about 50 seconds left in the game, Durant pulled up for a transition three. With LeBron James’ hand in his face, he splashed the three and Golden State took the lead.

As the Dubs ran back on defense, Curry decided to stop. He squatted down then he kept running. On his way back he dropped his mouthguard and kept running.

It looked like it was somewhere in between Randy Moss mooning Packer fans and Doug Baldwin’s “poopdown” in the Super Bowl. It sort of seems like Curry wanted to leave the Quicken Loans Arena court a little present. When you got to go, you got to go.

After the game, Curry said he didn’t know what he was doing. He said Durant’s three shook him to the point of dropping his mouthguard. He definitely rejected the idea that he was defecating on the Cleveland court.

It seems like the Cavaliers don’t care. According to Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio, the defending champs weren’t too thrilled with what it seemed like Curry did.

Well, there you have it folks. The Cleveland Cavaliers are upset that Curry squatted. The last part of that tweet seems like there’s a threat in there.

For two years, the Cavs have been extremely physical with Curry. So if they try to bump and grab him, it won’t be anything new. Even if someone like Richard Jefferson sends him flying out of bounds, it won’t be new.

And the Warriors should invite that. Curry has not missed a free throw in the series. If they want to put him on the line because their feelings got hurt that the team that went up 3-0 was celebrating a big shot then so be it.

At minimum, Curry was just celebrating in the moment. He didn’t know what he was doing. It’s also possible that because they were in Cleveland, the two-time MVP wanted to pay homage to the Browns.

But the Warriors’ point guard has done that before. He even posted a picture of  himself months ago squatting. Perhaps this is just something that he does, without rhyme or reason.

Unless Cleveland decides to give Dahntay Jones extended minutes, the Warriors shouldn’t be too scared. All series long the Cavs have said they were going to make adjustments and, here we are in the fourth game, and they haven’t. So Curry should be fine.

And if the Cavaliers are really upset that the Golden State Warriors are celebrating on their court then the solution is simple: don’t give them a reason to do it.
