Winning at home

The 2015 NBA Finals were a magical one for the Golden State Warriors. It was their first championship since 1975. It was a special run in which the Bay’s team were the last one standing.

They finished the Cleveland Cavaliers off in six games. The Warriors and the Cavs split the first two in Oakland then Cleveland took Game 3. The Warriors then rattled off three in a row, clinching the title inside the Quicken Loans Arena.

They celebrated on the Cavs’ home floor in front of their fans. They put the stage on top of their logo and received the Larry O’Brien trophy. The next year, Stephen Curry noted that he hopes the locker room still smells like champagne.

Ahead of Game 4 of the 2017 NBA Finals, Draymond Green remarked that he would enjoy winning it on their court. The Cavaliers celebrated their comeback victory at Oracle Arena so Green wanted to pay them back.

Well, the Warriors already one on the road. Now it’s time for them to celebrate in front of a raucous “Roaracle” crowd. It would be the ultimate party for a fan base who wants nothing more than to get revenge.

While silencing a road crowd is always incredible, celebrating with your home fans is special. Visually, a sea of gold jumping up and down in a championship frenzy. The Warriors had a chance to do it once again in Cleveland in front of a crowd that hates them more than anything.

That’s gone. But celebrating in front of and with people who love you is also incredible.
