The Warriors can put 3-1 to rest

The Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals. Even if you lived under a rock, you probably knew this. The Internet made sure that you didn’t forget that.

The Warriors were perfect. And it would have been really great if they were able to have completed a perfect postseason. Going 16-0 would have catapulted them to the top of the greatest team of all-time list.

They were 3-0 after defeating Cleveland twice in Oracle Arena and once in the Quicken Loans Arena. They fell in Game 4. The Cavs poured it on in their first elimination game of the season and punched the Warriors right in the mouth.

Now the Warriors have to deal with 3-1 jokes for now. And that’s just fine. They know what it’s like to lose a series.

Golden State cannot get too complacent. They have to end it now. The longer this series goes, the worse it bodes for the Warriors. They need to put it away as soon as possible.

The Warriors will continue to hear 3-1 jokes. They need it. They need that reminder that they couldn’t get the job done last year. Golden State needs to shed that memory by winning with a 3-1 lead.

It would be a nice chapter in this team’s story. The Warriors’ 3-1 woes have Dubs fans nervous and should instill some confidence in Cleveland. They need to squash that.

The 3-1 jokes and anxiety will be there for now. It will increase if they lose. The Warriors need to make sure that they end all that talk. It’s important to do so.

The Warriors signed Kevin Durant so something like what happened last year doesn’t happen to them again. If they want to build a dynasty, they need to end this series in Game 5 and, effectively, shut down the 3-1 chatter.
