The Golden State Warriors can win a championship with a wiwn in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. Here are three keys for them to do it.

The Golden State Warriors will take the floor tomorrow with a chance to win their second championship in two years. They’ll be in front of an energized home crowd, ready to celebrate at Oracle Arena. Their home floor has been friendly to them and the Warriors are hoping to find that magic once again.

Of course, it won’t be easy. It’s clear that Golden State isn’t unstoppable. The Cleveland Cavaliers proved that in Game 4.

The Cavs defended their home court in a major way. They won in a blowout fashion, leading for every minute of the game. Their domination from beyond the arc was far too much for Golden State to handle.

Now the Warriors have a 3-1 lead as the series returns to the Bay Area. They are in great position, but they still have work to do. They know all too well that championships aren’t just handed to you, no matter how much more talented you are than your opponent.

Golden State is going to have to work for it. They, obviously, can’t play like they did in Game 4. If they repeat that kind of performance with that level of effort, they won’t win.

The Warriors would have liked to sweep. Losing isn’t the end of the world though; there are positives to be pulled from defeat. But they want to end this now because the longer this series goes, the worse it fares for Golden State.

If the Warriors make the proper adjustments, they will win. This starts with their effort level. They need to play with much more energy than they did in their last game. Steve Kerr, who decided to return for the NBA Finals, must make smarter decisions that help his players and his team succeed. Psychologically, they can’t be afraid of the 3-1 lead.
