The Golden State Warriors should consider signing veteran Vince Carter. Here are five reasons why.
The Golden State Warriors have the best core in all of basketball. Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson are all All-Stars. They are now a championship core.
While having two MVPs gives you a great advantage, Curry and Durant can’t do it all on their own. Over the course of their entire 2017 run, the Warriors relied on different people. Of course, guys like Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston have been integral, but you need more than six or seven guys to win a title.

Ian Clark was a wonderful reserve all season long. Matt Barnes was a midseason pickup who filled in quite nicely when Durant was out with injury. David West took the minimum and he played an important role throughout the whole year including the NBA Finals.
Durant is technically under contract for next year, but he will take his player option in order to sign a bigger deal. Outside of that situation, the Warriors only have Green, Thompson, Patrick McCaw, Kevon Looney, and Damian Jones under contract for next season. The rest of the roster will be looking for a new deal.
The Warriors should go after Vince Carter. He’s a veteran at the end of his career who still has enough left in the tank to contribute to Golden State. After three limited yet pretty productive seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, he’s a free agent.
Golden State should look to add the 40 year old Carter.
