Getting that ring

The Golden State Warriors give Vince Carter the best chance at winning a ring. They’ve won two championships in the last three years. They seem poised to contend for a few more.

Steph Curry and Kevin Durant are two of the league’s top three players. That dynamic duo paired with Draymond Green and Klay Thompson make the Warriors the favorites to win the title. They simply have more talent than anyone else.

Carter has a pretty impressive resumé. He’s a basketball great because of his amazing athleticism. He really left an imprint on league history.

Still, the ring eludes him. With Father Time quickly closing the gap on Carter, he needs to consider what he wants to do. He’s not going to get a lot of money, regardless. So he needs to consider other factors.

Where would he want to move his family to? What does he want to do with the last part of his career? Does he want to mentor young players or does he want to try to get a championship.

Carter can turn to guys like David West and Matt Barnes who are aging veterans that got their first ring. They were important pieces. They each had their chance to make an impact, something Carter wants to do.

No other team is going to give him a better chance to compete for a championship. The Golden State Warriors could be Vince Carter’s last chance to add “NBA champion” to his list of accomplishments.
