The Golden State Warriors’ fan base is one of the biggest in all of North American sports. The Dubs have topped the NBA Store’s merchandise sales list.
The Golden State Warriors have the most talented team in the league. While the mainstream narrative is that they are the most hated villains in the history of professional sports (except, perhaps, the New England Patriots), they are also loved all over. The Dubs have one of the biggest and strongest fan bases in all of North American sports.
Warriors fans have loved their team for years. Even when they were bad and even when they were awful, they stood by the team. Since then, the Warriors’ have gotten a lot better and their fan base has, understandably, grown.

Every arena in the NBA sees a spike in the opposing team’s fans when the Warriors come into town. Jerseys, t-shirts, and hats are all visible in every single city. In the Bay Area, it’s nearly impossible to go anywhere without seeing some kind of blue and yellow. It’s becoming that way in a lot of places.
It looks like the numbers back that up. According to the NBA store, the Golden State Warriors are tops in the league in merchandise sales, beating out the Cleveland Cavaliers. They also have the top selling jersey, two of the top three top selling jerseys, and four of the top 15 selling jerseys.
Stephen Curry tops the list as he bests LeBron James once again. In third place was Kevin Durant. Already a regular on this list, Durant’s move surely sent Warriors fans (and new Warriors fans) to the stores to make some purchases. Russell Westbrook was fourth in the league in jersey sales.
Look a little farther down the list and you’ll find the Warriors’ other two All-Stars. Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are in the 10th and 11th spots, respectively. It’s not a bad spot to be for two guys with two MVP teammates.

The Warriors have always had great fans. Being the best team in the league means that more people are going to want to join your side. It also helps the Warriors’ case that they have more options than most teams.
The data goes back until April, but expect more of the same. After all, only one team gets to sell new championship gear this summer.
