The Golden State Warriors have agreed to bring back Stephen Curry and Shaun Livingston. Now Andre Iguodala should be their priority.

The Golden State Warriors are moving fast. In less than a day, the team agreed to a historic deal with Stephen Curry and another deal with Shaun Livingston. They want to get as much of the band back together as possible.

Kevin Durant already said that he’ll be re-signing with the Warriors at the end of June. The Warriors will obviously leave a lot of money aside for Durant. Signing at the end allows the team to prioritize other players first.

With Curry, Livingston, and Durant handled, the Warriors need to shift their focus to Andre Iguodala. He doesn’t have a meeting with them and he doesn’t have to. He has been with Golden State for the entire year and it’s reasonable to think that these types of discussions have happened throughout the entire year.

Iguodala will be taking meetings with different teams. He’s reportedly been in contact with the Los Angeles Lakers already. He’ll take meetings with the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, and Sacramento Kings while garnering interest from others like the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Warriors don’t need to meet with him. Both sides have a pretty good understanding of each other and where the numbers are at. Still, Iguodala should be the Warriors’ top priority.

They need to try to resolve it as soon as possible. Iguodala wants to return to Golden State, but it’s possible that he wants them to throw in another year or some more money. They need to consider doing so.

While Iguodala is getting older, he’s still very valuable. As he showed in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, he can really turn it on when it’s time do so. As many have reported, the tax and paying Iguodala into his mid to late-30s are concerns.

The Warriors need to make him their priority now that they’ve gotten Curry and Livingston out of the way. There’s mutual interest and he looks to have plenty left in the tank. Expect Iguodala to be back in a Warriors uniform.

But they can’t take that advantage for granted and they need to focus on convincing him to stay.
