5. Will Steve Kerr be able to remain on the bench?

If there was one big storyline that has impacted the Golden State Warriors over recent seasons, it is the health of head coach Steve Kerr. Complications from back surgery caused him to miss most of the playoffs this year, before he finally returned in the NBA Finals.

Mike Brown did an exceptional job filling in during Kerr’s absence and proved that a lot of the talk surrounding him might have been more in regards to the situation than the coach. Still, the health of Kerr should be a concern.

He missed a great portion of the 2015-16 season and it led to Luke Walton being able to earn himself a spot as a head coach in the league with the Los Angeles Lakers. If Kerr is able to stay healthy and on the bench, then it will be a great thing.

If there is one thing about Kerr that no one can question, it’s his competitive spirit. He wants to be out there with his team coaching them. Back and spine issues are never an easy thing to deal with and no one knows if something will flare up or if fluid will start leaking again.

The hope is that things will take a turn for the better and he can be there for all 82 games with his team next season. If he can’t, Brown is the perfect guy to have next to him ready to take over if need be.
