3. Who is the backup center?

A big question that will be facing this team is who is the backup center? The team has brought back Zaza Pachulia on yet another short deal and he will be the placeholder in the starting lineup yet again.

However, JaVale McGee still hasn’t been brought back yet and with only the minimum to offer him, there is a very real chance that another team in this league is going to offer him a little more money than he can make with Golden State.

That leaves 2016 first-round pick Damian Jones and Jordan Bell to fight it out for minutes. Bell is a little more versatile, while Jones is a true center that has slowly been improving his shot at earning real minutes over the last year.

Santa Cruz has done an exceptional job at helping develop the young talent that Golden State has and Jones is going to get his shot soon enough. It won’t be shocking to see him get the early nod by virtue of having a little more experience. Still, this is a question that’s going to continue to face the team until they can lock down an answer.
