5. Omri Casspi
The Golden State Warriors have brought in Omri Casspi for both his shooting and defense to the second unit. He’s a perfect piece to a bench unit because of the versatility that he is able to bring to the floor.
He’s also a great shooter that is going to get plenty of open looks with Shaun Livingston running the bench unit. One should expect that his numbers jump up even a little bit with the likelihood of getting more open looks than he has had elsewhere.
For his career, Casspi is a 44.3% shooter and 36.7% from three. If there’s a stat that should get Warriors fans excited about him, it’s the fact his three best shooting seasons have come over the last three years with the Sacramento Kings.
He did get traded near the deadline and then would suffer an injury, but he’s been trending up in his career. Add in the fact that he’s still just 29 years old and Casspi should make a perfect addition to this roster.
If he continues to trend up and gets a few more attempts than the 6.8 shots per game that he’s used to in his career, then he might find himself in a bigger role. Certainly, he’s an addition to be excited about.
