Matt Barnes

Every championship team has some cool stories that follow. Matt Barnes finally getting a ring in the bay was certainly one that Warriors fans got behind. After being a part of the “We Believe” era, Barnes is always going to be a favorite.

When Kevin Durant went down with an injury last season, Barnes was brought on board immediately and stepped in. He was rewarded for his efforts by being brought home to a championship team.

At 37 years old, Barnes is near the end of his career and it will be interesting to see if he still wants to play or if another team offers him a contract. He could be one of those veterans that doesn’t sign a deal until some time during the season when a contender is in a pinch.

The Warriors and Barnes seemed to have closed their story together with the championship. He has a legacy in the bay and it can’t be taken away from him. The Warriors have plenty of wing depth and made sure to send him off with a perfect thank you for his years of service to the team.

Verdict: No
