Right away, the trade rumors began popping up and Chris B. Haynes reported that Irving has a preferred list of four teams that he would like to play for. Those teams are the San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks and Miami Heat.

While those are the destinations that Irving wants to play for, the Cavaliers are ultimately going to trade him wherever they can get the best return from. That is they do indeed decide to end up moving him in a deal.

Right now, they could get a ton in return if they’re smart about a deal and that is going to give them plenty of options. It also means that there is a chance that Irving could end up out in the Western Conference. That means yet another threat to the Golden State Warriors.

Any team that looks to acquire Irving in the Western Conference would likely be one with the attention of trying to knock off the Warriors. There are plenty of teams that make sense to his acquire his services. These are the teams that would be the biggest threats.
