9. The Warriors drafting Jordan Bell

Heading into the 2017 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors had no draft picks and it looked like it would probably be a quiet night for a team looking ahead to free agency. Except that’s not how Bob Myers runs things in the front office.

The Warriors paid the maximum amount of money possible to the Chicago Bulls and perhaps landed one of the steals of the draft. The team drafted Oregon star Jordan Bell in the early second round and added a player that could be just like Draymond Green.

He has rim protecting ability and can fill the stat sheet up in multiple areas. The strongest evidence of this was during the Las Vegas Summer League when he posted a 5×5 stat performance.

Perhaps the biggest weakness on the team is the lack of a true rim protector. Bell offers that ability and with the NBA not really being a traditional center league anymore, he could thrive in whatever role he is given.

This wasn’t the place people thought he was going to end up and it was one of those picks that every knew right away could be a steal. Golden State got better on draft night and it could very well end up paying off huge for them.
