7. The Warriors adding Omri Casspi and Nick Young
The Golden State Warriors made sure the rest of the NBA collectively groaned during the offseason. The team’s biggest obstacle was keeping the core together by bringing back Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston.
Not only did the team keep those two players, but they were also able to add Omri Casspi and Nick Young to their roster. They added a versatile shooter in Casspi that will also help on the defensive end and another lethal shooter with Young.
Yes, the bench got even deeper and now the Warriors have shooters across the board. This team wasn’t supposed to become this good and add this much overall talent to the roster, yet here they are.
Bob Myers has won Executive of the Year in two of the last three years. It’s hard for an executive of a championship team to keep winning it because a team is usually capped out and can’t make many moves after a championship.
He made multiple moves after another title run and now should be considered one of the favorites for the award again next year. If this team is as good as they’re supposed to be, this offseason will be looked back at as one of the best in team history.
