5. Jeremy Tyler
One of the aspects of the Golden State Warriors that makes them such a successful franchise is their commitment to trying to develop young players. They don’t always pan out and often go on their way, but they have one of the best staffs in Santa Cruz.
Jeremy Tyler is a player that really got plenty of developmental time and even a shot to start with Golden State in games during his career from 2011-13 with the team. His arc has been seen with a lot of young players the team has brought on board lately.
Now, it’s a little bit easier for the young talent with all the superstars in regards to pressure and their roles. Tyler was a guy they devoted a lot of time too after they acquired him on draft night and gave him plenty of opportunities.
Although they would eventually trade him to the Atlanta Hawks, he would go overseas and find himself a nice career. It’s easy to look at development leagues as being solely for the NBA, but it can help a player for a career in another league as well.
The current Warriors are at a point where they have a lot of young players that have and will spend time in developmental. It won’t be a shock to see many of them have the same career path Tyler did.
