14. Rob Kurz

When it comes to being a great individual and leader, Rob Kurz possessed those abilities in college. He worked his way into a captain’s role with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and that’s ultimately how ended up in the NBA.

Golden State gave him his shot in the 2008-09 season and he even ended up getting some starts out of it. His work with Golden State actually got him another deal in the NBA, but he never ended up playing in another regular season game.

He even put up a career high of 21 points one night. There aren’t that many undrafted players that get the chance to play the amount of minutes necessary for that.

It’s a reminder of how quickly things can change in this league. One minute a player is finally putting up a career high and showing development and the next they are gone. Kurz will remembered by the hardcore fans, but he’s the perfect fit for this list.

It didn’t mean the same thing back then, but it is tremendous irony that his next destination would be the Cleveland Cavaliers. He made about as much impact in his time with Golden State, as Anderson Varejao did. So, there’s that at least.
