After shooting a 74 in the first round, Curry showed that his golf game is fantastic for not being a professional. He would end up shooting the exact same round again on Friday, as he finished with another 74. At +8 for the tournament, Curry has indeed missed the cut.
The fact of the matter is that Curry wasn’t a sideshow here. He wasn’t entering an element he wasn’t familiar with that was going to make him look bad. He proved he can play and showed a lot of promise in his swings. For someone that isn’t a full-time golfer and has to dedicate his life to another profession, it was a strong showing.
He certainly earned the respect of the professional golfers that were around him and it won’t be surprising to see him in another golf tournament. Not many can go shoot a 74 at a professional course.
This has been quite the summer for Curry, as he’s got to partake in various golf tournaments, hang out with NFL quarterbacks, travel the world and even show up on TV. He’s winning the offseason to say the least. Curry’s a competitor as well as we all know. Don’t be surprised if he comes back with an even better performance if he takes part in another tournament.
