Golden State Warriors: Dahntay Jones says Stephen Curry isn’t a Top 10 player
Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry isn’t a top 10 player in the league according to ex-Cleveland Cavaliers benchwarmer Dahntay Jones.
Stephen Curry just won his second championship in three years. When he gets his ring in a few months, he can place it next to his two MVP awards. He’s in the prime of his career.
Curry was spectacular during the NBA Finals. He was, statistically, the most impactful player on a floor that he shared with LeBron James (who averaged a triple-double for the series) and Kevin Durant (the Finals MVP). He showed the world what he can do on the biggest stage when he has two healthy knees.

Dahntay Jones, who has had courtside seats to many of Curry’s most incredible performances, doesn’t seem to care about all of the things the superstar point guard has accomplished. He joined Barstool Sports’ Mickstape and spoke about it.
Via CSN Bay Area’s Drew Shiller, Jones said “people get mad at me because I don’t declare [Curry] a Top 10 player in the NBA. I got him on the outside, like 11-12.”
His top three players in the league, in order, are LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, and Kevin Durant. The next seven, in no particular order, are John Wall, Paul George, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Chris Paul, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Anthony Davis. He also added that Durant is below Leonard because the Warriors would be great without him, arguing that Draymond Green is the most important individual on the squad.

Jones, 36, is currently not signed to a team. He’s been a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers for the past two seasons, but he hasn’t been a contributor. If anything, he’s been somewhat of a burden as James has had to pay some of his fines.
Curry’s place amongst the NBA’s elite shouldn’t be questioned. His talent is transcendent and his resumé has reached all-time status. Jones is wrong.
