Golden State Warriors superstar forward Kevin Durant has had an offseason dedicated to his Twitter activity. The NBA season can’t get here fast enough.

Things in the NBA have reached the “grasping for straws” point of the offseason. When questions of the earth’s shape and another player’s Twitter account are heavily dissected, it means that the season simply can’t get here soon enough. Once again, Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant is proving that point.

As we have discussed time and time again throughout the offseason, Durant’s Twitter habits continue to be at the forefront of the conversation. It seems there’s a new wrinkle at just about every turn and while there were some great moments, the saga is starting to get seriously played out.

It could just be the need for basketball at this point, as training camp and the preseason are just around the corner. August and September are typically those months where the most hardcore of fans go crazy and for good reason.

Durant’s Twitter saga is certainly going to carry the same buzz even if it happened during the regular season. At a certain point, one just has to ask how much longer do we really care about this entire thing?

The truth of the matter is that once players hit training camp and the preseason gets going, all of this stuff will start to fade away like a distant memory hopefully. The time to focus on basketball is drawing near and it can’t get here soon enough.

Soon, the big drama will be who is the starting center for the Warriors and which rotations work best with the new pieces that Golden State has added through free agency and the draft. For now, we can continue to comb through every inch of a player’s personal Twitter life until that happens.
