The Golden State Warriors could be a little shorthanded against the Houston Rockets as Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, and Omri Casspi could be out.

The Golden State Warriors open the season against the new-look Houston Rockets. The Texas team made some big changes this past summer in an effort to compete with the Warriors. Their most notable move was, of course, the trade that brought Chris Paul to “Clutch City.”

The Rockets have high hopes. They are planning to fight Golden State for Western Conference supremacy. Many are predicting this Opening Night matchup to be a preview of the Western Conference Finals.

The Warriors might not be able to bring their best shot to tomorrow’s game though. The deepest team in the league could be a little shorthanded for the opener. Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, and Omri Casspi could all sit out.

Livingston did not practice yesterday because of illness. He’s listed as probable. He will likely play.

Iguodala has a back injury. Casspi twisted his right ankle in the preseason finale. They are both listed as questionable as of right now.

While Iguodala and Livingston are key to the Warriors’ championship hopes, they should be able to beat the Rockets without them. As long as the Dubs’ core of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, and Draymond Green are healthy, they can beat anyone. The important thing is making sure everybody’s body is ready for another deep run into the playoffs.

Houston plays at a pace that will exploit you if you are limited. They play fast, like every Mike D’Antoni team. Harden and Paul will wear you down with their relentless attack.

The Warriors could be without their backup point guard, small forward, and primary reserve floor spacer. Despite that, they have plenty of positionless players who can step in and help them win a regular season game.
