5. The rotations

We as fans have a pretty solid idea what the rotation should  look like moving forward into the season, but you can never be too sure with the whole “Strength in Numbers” mantra.

Steve Kerr said he’s pretty comfortable playing any one of 15 of his guys, revealing that the backup shooting guard spot is still up in the air and that he would be perfectly fine starting Damian Jones were Zaza Pachulia and JaVale McGee out of commission.

He was also apparently torn on the idea of choosing between Kevon Looney and Jordan Bell. Considering the former’s unfortunate injury history and the latter’s strong performances throughout the summer, I remain unsure as to why Kerr would consider this to be a tough decision.

As for the backup shooting guard spot — I think Patrick McCaw should be the guy. As much as I love Nick Young, it was made abundantly clear over the course of the preseason that he has yet to grasp what exactly the Warriors do: In 22.1 minutes per game, Young averaged 34.5 percent shooting on 9.7 attempts — the highest number of attempts from any teammate not named Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson or Kevin Durant.

McCaw played a small role in his rookie year with the Warriors, but he proved to be a perfect fit for this team; on the other hand, I’d love for McCaw to backup Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala as the third-string point guard and small forward, so just keep on shooting Swaggy P — it’ll go in eventually.
