The Golden State Warriors are, by far, the best the Bay Area has to offer. They are here to save sports fans from the region.

The Bay Area is better than any other place in the world. It’s just facts. The Golden State Warriors are proof of that.

Unfortunately, 2017 was a tough year for every other Bay Area sports team. The San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics were horrible. The San Francisco 49ers are six weeks into the NFL season and have not won a game. The Oakland Raiders have disappointed thus far, falling way short of preseason expectations. The San Jose Sharks are 1-3-0 in their young season. The San Jose Earthquakes are fighting for a playoff spot despite their Conference-worst goal differential.

In years past, the Bay has been good. From 2010-2014, the Giants won three World Series titles. Jim Harbaugh’s 49ers made three straight Conference Championships and one Super Bowl. The A’s sprinkled a few postseason appearances. The Raiders had a fantastic year before losing quarterback Derek Carr last season. The Sharks made the 2016 Stanley Cup Finals.

The teams with expectations did not live up to them. The others–like the 49ers and the A’s–didn’t give fans much reason to cheer. That’s where the Warriors come in.

The Bay Area encompasses a lot of places. While there are common attributes and a common identity, generally speaking, there are also lots of different perspectives and views in the region. That’s where the Warriors come in.

Golden State is for everyone. They truly are the Bay’s team. Every person in the Bay Area can rally around this team. As a Bay Area sports fan who will sit through the worst Giants and 49ers seasons ever, I can say with confidence that the Warriors got us.

Next: 5 reasons the Warriors are fun to watch

Warriors basketball returned at a great time. The Raiders are on a four-game losing streak and the 49ers are winless. Instead of watching Brian Hoyer throw errant pieces, we can marvel at Draymond Green’s vision instead.

The Warriors can make everyone forget about all the other team’s (hopefully) temporary mediocrity by winning. They’ve done that a lot lately and they’re looking to do some more. If you’ve gotten angry at any Bay Area sports team in the last few months. don’t worry. The Warriors are going to counter historically bad teams with a historically great season once again.

The Golden State Warriors are here to make things right.
