He’s a Much Better Shooter

When you hear the name “Nick Young”, what is the first thing that pops in your mind besides his “Shaqtin’ A Fool” moments? He is deadly from three-point range and the Warriors have already seen how hot he can get on Opening Night.

Young hit six of seven from three-point range and was arguably the Warriors’ best option in a loss to the Rockets. He was one of the best catch-and-shoot three-point shooters in the league last season, hitting over 44 percent. With the Warriors, all of his threes will most likely be of that variety with all the attention drawn to Curry, Durant and Klay Thompson.

While Young is a great catch-and-shoot player, he can also create his own shot. This should not be a priority but if Young gets possession with the shot clock running down, Warriors’ fans should not be worried. Throughout Young’s career, he has known to break down his defender with a couple of crossovers and hit a jumper. When this happens, the opponents are in trouble because he can get hotter than even Curry, Thompson or Durant.

On the rare occasions when Curry, Durant, and Thompson are having subpar games, Young can step up and fill that void much like a Jamal Crawford or Eric Gordon does for their respective teams. Young’s shooting ability is just one more weapon that will propel the Warriors this season.
