His Confidence Never Wavers

Much like his Warriors’ teammates, Young’s confidence never wavers. You just need to look at his self-proclaimed nickname, “Swaggy-P”, which no one knows why that is his nickname.

Young has never found a shot that he is not willing to take. They may not be all “good shots” but Young will never be passive. This can get him in trouble but if Curry, Durant, Thompson are not on the floor, Young is the Warriors best offensive option.

He fits in perfectly because Curry, Thompson, and Durant are programmed that exact same way. No matter how many shots they miss, they will take the next shot with the same confidence they shot the last one. This Warriors team has not had that gunslinger mentality off the bench since Mareesse Speights in 2014-15.

Young is one of those players where you say, “Don’t take that shot” and then it goes in, much like Curry or Thompson from three-point range. All they need a step of separation and ball is going up. If they’re in a good rhythm, it is lights-out for the opponents.

You want your backup shooting guard to be fearless and trust that when your starter goes out, he will more than capable to fill his spot. This is what Young does and the Warriors are better because of it.
