Which player on the Golden State Warriors would make the best Harlem Globetrotter?  The Globetrotters answered that question on Friday.

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — Kaiser Permanente Arena, home of the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors‘ G League affiliate Santa Cruz Warriors, played host to the world famous Harlem Globetrotters last Thursday, captivating Surf City basketball fans in a way they weren’t normally accustomed.

With legendary Globetrotter Sweet Lou at the coaching helm, the team put on a spectacularly entertaining show, dazzling everyone with their highflying stunts, their tight-knit passing and their long range shooting.

And while their basketball skills were certainly impressive, their wacky sense of humor and memorable skits is what really stole the night, demonstrating once again why the Harlem Globetrotters continue to remain one of the most renowned entertainment acts in the world.

They stayed over half an hour after the end of the game to interact with fans, answering questions and signing whatever item happened to find its way into their hands. Despite their absurd, eccentric personalities on the court, the Globetrotters proved that they’re just regular, down-to-earth people who enjoy what they do.

By the end of the night, it got me thinking: Which one of the Golden State Warriors would make the best addition to the Harlem Globetrotters?

Stephen Curry and his overall flashy basketball ability? Klay Thompson and his knock down shooting? Draymond Green and his outgoing personality? Kevin Durant? Here’s what some of the Globetrotters had to say on the matter:

"Big Easy: “I would say between Steph and Draymond because both of them have good pass, great vision on the court; that’s part of what you need. Steph or Draymond!”"

"Cheese: “I think the Warriors are a great organization, great team. I think Steph Curry’s ball handling and — especially with the 4-point shot we have — the jump shooting; Draymond Green with his toughness; Klay, especially with his jump shot; KD…. I mean they seem like good guys. I think they’d all be good Globetrotters, especially with their attitudes."

"Firefly: “I’d have to say Steph Curry. He’s a great shooter, we got the 4-point line. I’m one of the best shooters on the team — Firefly — and I admire players that can shoot the ball. And Steph Curry is not only just a great basketball player, but he’s a great person. With the Harlem Globetrotters, you have to be a great athlete, a great person, a great basketball player — a little bit of everything. He’s a great player. I love it.”"

"Moose: “Well there’s a lot of different Warriors that would be great Globetrotters. They have a lot of 4-point shooters — they already shoot 4-pointers haha! Then you have the great dunkers, as well, and a lot of their players play to the crowd. I couldn’t just choose one.”"

"Spider: “Definitely Steph Curry. He already has the flashy passing and he already shoot from the 4-point range.”"

"Thunder: “I would have to go with Steph. Just because some of the things the Globetrotters do off the court that makes us great Globetrotters and great players…and I like the things Steph does off the court. He’s a great Christian guy, family guy, and he has an amazing jump shot. I don’t know if he can come out here and hang with us with these 4-pointers, but he’s one of the best shooters in the world, we have some of the best shooters in the world…I would love to see him put on a Globetrotters jersey and see what he got.”"

"Too Tall: “I’ma say Steph Curry because he has that 4-point shot range 30-feet away from the basket. So I’ma go with Steph Curry."

"Coach Sweet Lou: Right now, we NEED Steph Curry from this 4-point line because Cheese is slippin’. Did you talk to Cheese? Cheese is slippin’. We NEED Steph Curry! Listen: I’ma be calling Steph next week —  tell him to accept my call. The coach from the Globetrotters, Sweet Lou Dunbar, will be calling you Steph because Cheese and Firefly — oh my goodness I need help!”"
