The reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors were victorious Saturday night at Oracle Arena against Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins and the visiting New Orleans Pelicans, covering a double-digit deficit in the first half to win 110-95.
Since their 91-108 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder last Wednesday, the Dubs have now achieved two consecutive wins, defeating the Chicago Bulls 143-94 last Friday to kick off their 3-game homestand.
Holding a regular season record of 15-5, Golden State stands 0.5 games behind James Harden and the Houston Rockets for the first seed in the Western Conference. The Warriors will wrap up their homestand on Monday against the Sacramento Kings before heading to Los Angeles to begin a 6-game road trip.
Stephen Curry led the way for Golden State on Saturday against the Pelicans, finishing with 27 points, four rebounds and six assists on 9-of-25 shooting. Klay Thompson had 24 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks, while Zaza Pachulia posted 10 points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals.
Andre Iguodala added 14 points, three rebounds and four assists off the bench, and Draymond Green once again stuffed the stat sheet with six points, seven rebounds, eight assists, two steals and a block in 26 minutes.
