David West has truly found the ‘Fountain of Youth’ with the Golden State Warriors, averaging 6.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 blocks in 11.6 minutes.

Against the Pelicans on Saturday, West posted six points, two rebounds and two assists in 12 minutes off the bench. He didn’t shoot too well, though, going 1-of-4 from the field, but 4-of-4 from the free throw line.

Theoretically, he should have retired last season, but he’s surprisingly continued to find a way to be productive in Steve Kerr‘s system. As one of the big men off the bench, West works as a pivot point: he sets screens, pops out for 15-foot jumpers and, most importantly, utilizes his vision and passing ability to hit the open man.

It’s that last trait that makes West such an invaluable cog in Golden State’s machine — a trait that every Warriors big man in the rotation has in common. He showed off that passing ability Saturday night, finding the open cutter
