3. McCaw deserves more minutes

It’s no secret that the entire NBA f*cked up when they allowed Pat McCaw to fall to the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Draft. Since then, the reining NBA champions have enjoyed developing him for the sole purpose of taking over for Andre Iguodala in the near future.

McCaw has consistently proven himself to be a solid two-way player, showing a great feel on the defensive end while also showing much improvement on the offensive side of the ball. Though he’s taken a backseat to Nick Young this year, McCaw hasn’t disappointed in his limited time on the floor.

The play below is just one example of how quickly he can turn defense into offense:

Starting in the place of the injured Stephen Curry, McCaw recorded 16 points, three rebounds, seven assists, four steals and one block in 33 minutes. He shot 5-of-8 from the field, 2-of-5 from behind the arc and 4-of-4 from the free throw line.

That stat line is by no means Curry-esque, but McCaw far outplayed his season averages of 3.9 points, 0.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.2 blocks in 13.2 minutes. He stepped up, showed out, and therefore deserves some more time on the hardwood moving forward.
