1. That was…a pass

Jordan Bell‘s place in Steve Kerr‘s rotation is a bit confusing, to say the least: after tallying four points, five rebounds and one block in six minutes in the first half, he was seemingly buried at the end of the bench in the second half, never to be seen again.

He finished with those numbers, notably posting a +1 off the bench on 2-of-2 shooting. Considering just the players in the second unit, Bell’s plus/minus was only bested by David West, who posted a +11 on eight points (4-6 FG), seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 17 minutes.

In all honesty, the play featured above should have warranted more second half minutes.

I mean, which other players in the NBA can (1) have enough awareness on the weak of the play to accurately anticipate where the shot trajectory is going; (2) react quickly enough and with enough coordination and athleticism to catch the ball mid-flight; and (3) still have enough strength and hang time to bring the ball back from below his chin to above his head for a two-handed power jam?

And if that wasn’t enough: Bell was on track to finish with roughly 12 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks had he been given the same numbers as West. As great Kevon Looney and David West has been, the coach staff NEEDS to find a way to get Bell more involved.

For the culture.
