3. December has been Draymond’s month

Against the Pelicans on Monday, Warriors big man Draymond Green finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, four steals and two blocks. He shot 6-of-12 from the field, 3-of-5 from behind the arc and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. Additionally, he posted a game-high +27 in 38 minutes of play.

Green has been a pivotal part of Golden State’s success over the past few games — most especially on this recent 6-game road trip. Over the course of the three games the team has played in December alone, Green has averaged 11.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 1.0 blocks and 2.3 steals on shooting splits of 52.0/50.0/80.0.

He’s also totaled a + 93 over those three contests, which just about averages out to a +31. Though he finished with a -2 against Lonzo Ball and the Los Angeles Lakers to start the 6-game roadie, he still notched a near triple-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists and four steals.

We may still have the rest of December to go, but Green has really started this month off to an incredible start. Considering what happened at the end of Monday’s game, his contributions will be needed more than ever — but more on that later.
