2. And-1 Mixtape

Ever since Quinn Cook arrived back from playing with the Santa Cruz Warriors, he’s displayed a solid ability to lead a team, further improving his credentials as a bonafide NBA floor general. Sure, the circumstances surrounding his return to Oakland are unfortunate and his success may be rather bittersweet, but there’s no doubt Cook’s stock has gone up with this recent string of wins.

Though he only recorded three points, one rebound and one assist in 10 minutes off the bench, his three points came courtesy of this gem, which may possibly be one of best moves I’ve seen executed recently.

Cook had a couple of notable play in his limited time on the floor, including a great pocket pass to Jordan Bell out of the pick-and-roll. Watching Cook run the PnR, there’s no question in my mind that he could be a sixth man somewhere else in the NBA.

The play above not only put Cook’s technical skill on display, but his offensive instincts: he didn’t force a shot, using a pump fake to get his defender off his feet and in trouble; but instead of a simple one-dribble pull-up jumper, Cook opted for the fancier spin-dribble pull up, which set up a nice look regardless.
