Kevin Durant and Steph Curry Lead Western Conference All-Star Voting
By Andrew Ites
The first returns of fan voting for the NBA All-Star Game have come in, and the Warriors’ two former MVP’s lead the way.
Fan voting is half of the formula in determining the roster for February’s All-Star Game, and the Warriors are represented well in the first count of votes from the NBA fans.
Kevin Durant is the leading vote-getter among Western Conference players with 767,402 votes and his teammate Steph Curry comes in at number two in the West with 735,115 votes.

Durant and Curry aren’t the only Golden State players doing well in the fan voting. Draymond Green is currently sitting in fourth-place among Western Conference forwards with 325,612 votes, and Klay Thompson is in fourth-place among guards with 359,442 votes.
All four of these players have been fixtures in the All-Star Game, and they have a good shot of making the team together this season.
Durant is an eight-time All-Star, Curry has been to the All-Star Game four times, Klay Thompson has been an All-Star three times, and Draymond Green has been named an All-Star twice.
Steph has been outstanding when he’s been on the floor this season averaging 27 points per game and shooting over 40% from 3, but he’s been injured and has missed 13 of the Warriors’ 38 games this season. Curry has now recovered from his ankle injury, and he should be a shoe-in to make the fifth All-Star Game of his NBA career.
Next: Golden State Warriors: Kevin Durant should be considered as a top MVP candidate
Durant is also a no-brainer to make the All-Star Game, but Klay and Draymond are always on the fringes of the roster. Thompson and Green’s strong voting numbers give them a good chance of being All-Stars again this season.
